Bulgarian Maritime Training Centre was established in July 1974 to help the personnel employed in the shipping industry to prepare for Maritime Administration examinations and trough the years has become a complete training source for professional qualification. In 1989 the BMTC was declared as a national maritime training centre by Bulgarian Ministry of Transport and as a Centre of Excellence in its field over the years has constantly strengthen its position as the leading provider of high quality courses for seafarers working on board merchant vessels.
This mandatory course is for prep training of WOO and provides refresher training and upgrading of knowledge and skills on basic functions: Navigation, Controling the operation of the ship and care for persons on board and Cargo handling and Stowage and duties, as required by the Ordinance No 6 of Ministry of transport, IT and communications and the national standard.

MONITORING AND OPERATION OF MAIN AND AUXILIARY MACHINERY AND ASSOCIATED CONTROL SYSTEMS
This course provides training for officers and ratings who have not previously worked on board liquefied gas tankers as part of the regular complement and meets the mandatory requirements for training ship’s crews – Reg. V/1-2 para 2.2 and Code A- V/1-2 para 1, table V/1-2-1 of the STCW 78 as amended. The course includes basic safety and pollution prevention precautions and procedures, layouts of different types of liquefied gas tankers, types of cargoes, their hazards and their handling equipment.

Mandatory course for achieving higher maritime competency.
Course objectives: Electrical engineers, electricians and marine engineers working with High Voltage Power Systems should know how to operate and maintain them in a safe manner. Certificated persons should know and implement the procedures for usage of protective equipment as well as of the monitoring, controlling and signalization equipment of these systems.
