 ТThe course is intended for achieving knowledge and skills by the applicants applying for being certified as watch-keeping officers on board vessels required to be equipped with radar equipment and ARPA equipment so that in performing watch-keeping officer’s duties to be able to ensure and maintain safe navigation and collision avoidance.
The course is intended for those who during their terms of education have not studied the topics and subjects required by Section A-II/1, function “Navigation”, competence “ Use of RADAR and ARPA to maintain safety of navigation” of the Annex of the STCW 78, as amended and supplemented and is as well intended for those employed on board service vessels and  pleasure and sport craft and willing to acquire knowledge and skills for operating  radar and ARPA equipment. 

ENTRY STANDARDS
 
Trainees who will apply for being certified as watch-keeping officers must have completed secondary school vocational education, specialty “Navigation” (or must have completed theory on the subject “Means of Radio-navigation”) or must have completed training courses required under paragraph 36, subparagraph 4, letter “a”, paragraph 36, subparagraph 8, letter “a”, paragraph 39, subparagraph 4, letter “a” of the Ordinance No 6.
CERTIFICATION
Those who have successfully passed the training course shall be issued certificate  "Use of Radar and ARPA to maintain Safety of Navigation" by ЕAMA – Executive Agency “Maritime Administration” 
The course can be carried out in English on request.
