The course is opened for officers and other persons who are immediately responsible for the loading and unloading and who have worked on board chemical tankers as staff crew members. The programme complies with the mandatory requirements for the qualification of crew members - regulation V/1 and A-V/1, paragraphs 15 to 21 including, of STCW' 78/ 95, as amended. The course comprises matters of the personal and general safety of tanker crews as well as matters concerning the prevention of pollution of the marine environment, procedures and regulations for the different types of tankers, the kinds of cargoes and the potential hazards in using the equipment. The training provides for the use of a dedicated tanker simulator. The course is based on IMO Model Course 1.04 – “Specialized Training For Chemical Tanker Operations” 2006 Edition and the Directive 2008/106/EU, as well. Training equipment used: LCHSimulator
The course is approved by Bulgarian Maritime Administration.
Entry standards: The participants are required to have had previous sea-going service as per their qualification and to have completed an approved courses on first-aid, fire-fighting and “Tanker Familiarization”.
